Ex Governor's jet

Fast frank is second only to Rep. don young (but that is another blog) as the most embarrassing person to Alaskans. From, among many other things, the nepotism of appointing his daughter to his seat in the senate through cutting elder Alaskan’s longevity bonus after he said he wouldn’t to circumventing state financial guards and buying a Westwind jet so he wouldn’t have to ride in a turboprop his egotism and insensitivity has defined his one term.

Although Lisa has turned into a better than mediocre senator, and actually won her seat over Tony in a bona fide election, the initial appointment sticks in our minds as an example of frank’s arrogance. The state sure could have come up with a use for the $40,000 state money frank used to compile, print and distribute his parting shot of “accomplishments” while in office. I could go on and on but in the end I have real heartburn over ex gov murky force-feeding us the "state" jet.

In our local newspaper, the Anchorage Daily News, today there is one letter to the editors from Wade Miller about parking the jet in murky's driveway and garnisheeing his state pension to pay for it. I met Wade years ago in Fairbanks and he seemed a nice guy albeit a little fixed on himself. He is echoing the frustration we have with being stuck with the jet purchase and under minimum bids when trying to sell it on E-Bay. I feel Wade is being a little harsher than I would be with frank. I believe we should sell the jet on E-Bay for what we can get and then garnishee his pension for the balance. Frank will have to live with the knowledge of his Alaskan legacy and that one of our new governor Sarah’s biggest jobs upon taking office is to reverse or mend franks’ bonehead mistakes.
